STAT 2024–2025 Book Study

Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me? by Stephen G. Peters (3rd Edition, ISBN: 0979002842)

Join STAT’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force for a multi-part book study on Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me? by Stephen G. Peters (3rd Edition, ISBN: 0979002842).

This book provides readers with the opportunity to affirm and validate the approaches and strategies they are already using, while also encouraging an openness to the idea that today's students require more. Peters has worked at every level in the education system, including as a teacher, vice principal, and assistant superintendent. He understands the dynamics of how effective schools operate and why.

This is the first book in a four-part series that explores how we can better understand our students, become more ambitious in our science teaching by creating opportunities for meaningful discourse, transform our instruction into a catalyst for justice and sustainability, and ultimately highlight why we teach science and why it matters.

This free book study is open to STAT members and nonmembers. All you need is a copy of the book and to register! You'll join a group of peers for online discussion and reflection, and opportunities to build community, develop action plans, and achieve your goals.

This program is ideal for any K–12 science educator.
