PACT Standard Setting Conference

Opportunity to Participate in PACT Standard Setting Conference

Message from Oak Hill Technology on Behalf of TEA and Pearson

STAT received the following message late last week inviting Texas science educators to apply to participate in the Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) Standard Setting Conference in late April in San Antonio. The deadline to apply is the close of business Monday, April 8, 2019.

On behalf of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and Pearson, Oak Hill Technology Inc. is currently recruiting Texas educators to participate in the Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) Standard Setting Conference.

The role of the Standard Setting Committee is to examine each question included on an exam form and provide standard setting judgments that will be considered by the Texas Education Agency in determining the passing standard for each exam.

A Pre-Admission Content Test (PACT) can be used to obtain admission into an educator preparation program in the state of Texas. Currently, exams taken through the PACT route are the same exams used for certification. TEA is currently exploring subject matter examination options to be used for PACT that will be administered through the Texas Educator Certification Examination Program.

Each PACT committee will meet for one day (7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) during the week of April 29 – May 3, 2019 on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX.

We are requesting your assistance in seeking applications and/or nominations of educators to serve on the committee(s) listed below.  A list of qualified applicants is being prepared to send to TEA for their final approval this week. We understand this is short notice, but truly appreciate your support with this program.
