Congratulations to the 2018-2019 STAT Executive Board

The nine-member Science Teachers Association of Texas Executive Board is STAT's governing body and provides strategic, programmatic, and financial direction and oversight for the association.

In 2018, five positions on the Executive Board—President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary and two Member-at-Large positions—were up for election. The STAT Nominating Committee presented to members a slate of three officers and an election among six Member-at-Large candidates. Following a two-week voting period, the election concluded April 19.

Newly Elected Members

Congratulations to STAT's newly elected Executive Board members! Their terms begin June 1, 2018.

  • President-Elect Linda Schaake, Brady ISD
  • Vice President Melissa Gable, Crosby ISD
  • Secretary Jennifer Meyer, Leander ISD
  • Member-at-Large Matthew Cushing, Rice University Office of STEM Engagement
  • Member-at-Large Jeanette Escobar, El Paso ISD 

Continuing Members

The following Executive Board members will continue their terms during the 2018-2019 school year. The presidential term is a three-year succession term, with one year as President-Elect, one year as President and one year as Past President.
