The Science Teachers Association of Texas, STAT, is a statewide organization of elementary through college level science teachers and supervisors and others involved in formal and informal science education dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of science education in Texas schools.

The STAT board has begun a critical and timely initiative, the consideration and endorsement of statements representing a STAT official position regarding selected topics of concern for Texas teachers of science. The STAT board is the Affiliate Congress, made up of representives from the 11 affiliated organizations, and the Executive Board, the STAT elected governing body.
