The STAT Nominating Committee is seeking the help of STAT members and other Texas science educators to identify potential candidates for its slate of officers for 2016 – 2017. Offices to be filled in the election are listed below. Each officer serves as a voting member of the STAT Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Specific duties are summarized as follows:
President-Elect (to serve as President from June 2017 – 2018)
Assists with conference planning, serves as chief executive officer in the absence of the STAT President, and works with STAT Regional Directors on membership development and regional Mini-CASTs.
Chairs Membership Committee
Serves as chief financial officer, supervises financial transactions, maintains accurate financial records, and provides monthly financial reports to the
STAT Board of Directors.
Keeps accurate minutes of the STAT Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings, provides a regular reporting of the minutes to the Board, and writes correspondence as directed by the Board.
Three (3) Members At Large
Ad hoc duties as determined by the STAT President
Please consider nominating someone for one or more of these offices. In addition, members of STAT who want to be considered as nominees are welcome to self‑nominate for an office. Retired science professionals who are still members of STAT are eligible. Nominees will be sent a nomination packet to complete and return in order to be considered for the slate of officers.
