STAT Teacher of the year AWARDS 2017

Do you know an outstanding teacher who has made notable contributions to science education?  Well, you're in the right place! Here, you can submit yourself, a friend, colleague, or mentor for a STAT Award.  Award recipients receive a plaque, an honorarium, and two tickets to the VIP Reception.


The deadline for awards submissions is August 1, 2017

  • You may nominate a teacher by submitting the NOMINATIONS form.  You may also nominate yourself by filling out and submitting this form.
  • All nominees/winners MUST be a current member of STAT.
  • All nominees must fill out the requested documents and answer the requested questions listed below.




Outstanding Science Teacher of the Year Awards
Rookie Science Teacher of the Year: Awarded to a STAT member in their first or second year of teaching.
Elementary Science Teacher of the Year: Awarded to an Pre-K-4 teacher and STAT member.
Middle School Science Teacher of the Year: Awarded to a 5-8 teacher and STAT member.
High School Science Teacher of the Year: Awarded to a 9-12 teacher and STAT member.

Requirements:  Provide Evidence of outstanding support of science education at the district or state level, a curriculum vitae, and one or more letter of support that addresses the award criteria. This may be submitted by a principal, vice principal, area superintendent, colleague, former student, and/or parents of former students. STAT membership required. Winner will be appointed and determined by the STAT Executive Committee.
