CAST ’09 had it all! A GREAT location - Galveston! The weather
was perfect! Fantastic workshops! Packed exhibit hall with great give-aways!
We had a great time and came away with inspiration and wonderful classroom
ideas.
About 6,000 teachers attended this year’s CAST! We loved seeing
our TCES members and friends come by our booth! Welcome to our new members
who joined with their conference registration and those who registered
at the booth! We were excited to see so many new members at our luncheon!
Our Hands Across Texas gets better each year! Would you believe
this is the 24th edition! Thanks to all who published with us. And, thanks
to all
who helped support TCES by purchasing this year’s cd.
TCES presented eleven elementary workshops. Many were attended by more
than a hundred people! Attendees left with good ideas for their classrooms.
We also had a wonderful share-a-thon! If you didn’t get over to the
San Luis for it, we hope you’ll be able to join us next year. There
were some really great activities that were shared!
As always the TCES luncheon was a highlight. About seventy members heard
about the new programs that are being developed by National Geographic.
We appreciate National Geographic
donating the grand prize of a classroom kit.
They were inspired by our special TCES member Carol Lutsinger. Of course,
our raffle for over 70 items was exciting.
Plan to attend CAST in 2010. It will be bigger and better! It will be at
the George Brown Convention Center in Houston. TCES plans to double our
elementary workshops for this conference. Start thinking about a workshop
that you could present. You can do it! The call for proposals will go out
in the spring. If you have any questions, email Roberta Marshall at roberta_marshall@msn.com.
