TEACHERS (Grades Pre-K through 6)
Outstanding Elementary Science Teacher of the Year
Recognizes an elementary classroom teacher for excellence in science teaching

NEW/PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS (Grades Pre-K through 6)
Outstanding Rookie Science Teacher of the Year
Recognizes a pre-service (in student teaching) or classroom teacher with less than 3 years experience

ADMINISTRATORS
Outstanding Elementary Administrator of the Year
Recognizes an elementary level (Pre-K through 6) administrator for supporting science education

LEADERS
Rebecca Sparks Award for Excellence in Elementary Science
Recognizes an individual for leadership in elementary science education

Any member may nominate themselves or another member by submitting a letter of nomination to chodgin@mail.utexas.edu, including:
• nominee’s name
• title
• home address
• institution/school district
• campus address
• home and work telephone numbers.

The nominee then submits a packet containing:
1. A qualifying statement of this person's contributions to elementary science education
2. This person's background, experience, and service
3. Additional letter(s) of support
4. Nominator's name, address, and telephone

Awards are presented during the TCES Luncheon at CAST, and include
• An attractive plaque
• A scholarship to the annual TCES Leadership Symposium
• A copy of HATS (Hands Across Texas)
• A one-year membership to TCES

TCES also presents FIVE awards drawn at random during the luncheon at CAST:

TCES DILLO (Development In Leadership And Learning Opportunity) AWARDS
Four persons in attendance at the annual luncheon will be given cash, plus membership. This money is intended to be used for travel to science conferences or to buy materials or resources. These winners will be determined by drawinG.

CARL AND DOROTHY LOHMANN SCHOLARSHIP
One person in attendance at the annual luncheon will be given cash, plus membership. This money is designated to cover some of the professional development expenses. This winner will be determined by drawing.

TCES MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
Members of the TCES Board of Directors are encouraged to nominate a member whose service is worthy of recognition. Submit a nomination to chodgin@mail.utexas.edu, including
